Pete Alonso has 8 home runs through 16 games! Lazy math – he’s on pace for 80!
Aside from the 8 home runs, let’s take a look at this….
That’s weird.
So here’s my theory. Even baseball realized how broken baseball was – which is why the put in the pace of play rules. (Did you see the Red Sox game was UNDER two hours! Yes!!!!!)
The last time baseball was broken they looked the other way on all sorts of things so that people could hit home runs – and that drove the turn of the century style baseball when baseball was popular (well, that and a marketable Yankees team.)
So….maybe perhaps possibly some of those suspect baseballs have been released into the wild again.
Now is it GOOD if Pete Alonso hits 80 Home Runs (I think he will break the record but not get to 80 – say 78 HRs) – I say YES.
Pete, if he can stop being vulgar and spell LGM with three letters, has the potential to be very marketable. Pete, need my advice and put the F away and make some bank.
It would be good for baseball if this happened in NYC – and there’s a fake rivalry to be created with Aaron Judge. All this is good for marketing.
