Well, much sooner than later, it’s time to bring back the “Will this guy manage the Mets?….No” series (thank you @ceetar for the original idea) in which we will look at the daily rumors over the next few weeks as the Mets aren’t supposed to (allowed?) to make big announcements during the playoffs.

Could Wally Backman manage the Mets? No. Steve has had a caper filled week, and the last few GM hires have been disasters. What Steve needs is someone steady who will keep things calm…..a Buck Showalter type. Wait, which idiot fired Buck Showalter? Surely not Former Wilpons Intern Davod Stearns! He didn’t start until Monday so it definitely wasn’t him.
Anyway, parts of Wally’s bio are a little too colorful for what the Mets need right now, so – No. Wally Backman will not manage the Mets.
