There may have been a scenario where Beltran could have gotten a chance, but the word “investigation” was thrown around Queens last week, and the last thing Steve needs is to bring in someone who has been to Houston. Now, eventually everyone is going to realize Former Wilpons Intern David Stearns has also been to Houston, but the Mets Beat has ignored that so far. Or at least they had at the time I wrote this. Maybe they are talking about it now.
