Trying to Remember Joe Frazier « Faith and Fear in Flushing

From a few days ago…once again Greg Prince crushes.  Joe Frazier is just before my time…like I think that I became  big fan during the first two weeks of June 1977.  I only remember Torre as manager, kinda remember that he was in theory a player-manager, and I definitely felt the anguish of June 15th…and as mentioned previously had met Seaver earlier in my life.

Anyways, Greg has a writing skill that I don’t have…enjoy a taste and then go read the entire thing.

Things certainly felt faster, however. Frazier, Jerry Koosman observed in his new manager’s first May, had the Mets “running, stealing, playing hit-and-run. Yogi wasn’t the type to move the ballclub.” Ed Kranepool agreed that “Joe does all the little things … [He] keeps you in the game. He’s all over the place. He’s in your locker. He’ll tell you something about how to field or how to hit. I like that.”
