Sigh. Sometimes bored reporters drive me nuts.
As you may have noticed there’s nothing happening in Flushing. Yet, there are newspapers to fill. Let me help you with some items.
1. K-Rod is not coming back to the Mets.
Non-story. Why would Sandy bring him back? Is he going to pitch for $400,000? Did we forget about the fist-fight? Non-story non-story non-story.
2. Jose Reyes will not be on the Brewers.
There’s nothing sexy about being the SS for the Brewers. Even if you run off 10 championships nobody cares. Aside from your baseball salary there are advertising opportunities. SS for a New York team or an LA team? Sexy.
3. MLK III and Ed Kranepool still don’t own the Mets.
Remember that nonsense that was reported as a possible scenario?
It’s quiet out there. If David Wright admits that when he was 7 he thought about being on the Braves it will become “Wright considered Braves.”
I suggest the newspapers fill space by searching ebay for random crap. That’s what I do.
