He would make the team better.
He would make for a fun dugout with Pedro, Manny and probably Reyes clowning around.
They would sell more tickets.
All that being said, I don’t want to root for the 2004 Red Sox.
No thanks.
What do you think?
What Mets fans talk about when not talking about the actual games.

No, the Mets don’t need that headache.
Hey Mets Police, chill out. Manny isn’t going anywhere. This type of thing happens every year with this guy. The Sox have him by the —- contract wise and he knows it so he is having a bit of a tantrum.
I would take ‘Manny the hitter’ on the Mets, because he is what they need but you can’t do that. You also have to take the stupid pants around the ankles, the goofy haircuts, the lackluster defense and the annual annoying rants. This guy used to forget to cash paychecks when he was in Cleveland – we are not talking about a mental genius here.
Plus the Sox simply won’t deal him because he is a good value – even with the inevitable distractions. Manny effed up by giving the Sox the options at the end of the deal. He could have made it 8 years at 20m per but he wanted a 200m contract. So in theory he got it but at the discretion of the Sox.
We all think Boras and A-Rod are a-holes, and they are, but you have to admit that they are smart a-holes. That opt out clause after 7 years was genius. If he stunk in year 7 A-Rod had the option, not the team. He could have played a year and saw what the market was like and then either opted out or again exercised it for another year.
Long story short – if the Mets can’t put together a package for Xavier Nady how can they put together one for one of the top 5 righhander hitters since World War II??
Have fun in Boston Manny because unless you set fire to the park or kill someone you are back in ’09.
