I saw this headline….
New York Mets Bloggers tour pre-wrecking ball Shea Stadium
So I read further:
Nice video piece on the demolition of Shea Stadium by SNY Mets bloggers Ted Berg and Matt Cerrone. Amog the highlights: The seats are gone, there’s no outfield wall and someone has made off with the home run apple.
Just wondering…are people who work for SNY really “bloggers?” I mean no disrespect to their work, and Mets Police will whore out for a paycheck in a second….but I don’t know that these guys are “bloggers.” If David Wright has a blog is he a Mets “blogger.”
I don’t think so.
Anyway Mets, I’m kind of hurt we weren’t invited.
are you seriously not considering Matt Cerrone from metsBLOG to be a BLOGger?
To qualify – a “blog” to me suggests some sort of amateurship…and what’s more amateur to this dopey site. Since Mets Blog is on SNY and SNY is owned by Wilpon, there seems to be a relationship there that seems it’s not quite a dopey fat guy on his deck popping off. No disrespect to Matt’s work, but there’s a relationship there – so for a paper to suggest “Mets bloggers were invited” – well I guess you can call anything a blog but it’s not like they invited “the Good The Bad The Ugly…The Mets” or one of the other uncensored blogs.
Metsblog WAS, and still technically is “amateur”..because the blog was so successful it was able to ally with SNY. As for Ted Berg, he is one of many Mets reporters who has better access than the amateur set to the clubhouse, so his input is equally valuable. Basically what i am saying is, this is a great blog and all, but i hardly call Metsblog a unit of SNY, and i think Cerrone would agree…heck i am glad anyone got in there to take those unique photos…15 years ago, we woulda gotten nothing…
