I have a bad feeling about this

What an exciting night!  Lots of us were hanging on twitter and discussed the pitch count.  Yes I wanted to take him out after 7 and yes I feared and still fear putting that much wear on Johan’s shoulder…but that’s tomorrow’s problem.  In a one game universe that was exciting….

The Mets are 25-39 since June 3.  They were 31-23 and tied for first place before wearing you know what.

  1. I don’t know; I know with every successive Johan start it feels more and more like we sold out our season for a no-hitter (at the very least his season), but at the same time, I still wonder what would’ve happened if we just sent him back out there after the no-hitter on his normal rest. Because he eventually did seem to come around, and was going ok until he got stepped on.
I just can’t believe how much this team’s fallen off a cliff since the break; last night’s loss dropped us to 9-24 in the second half. Why I’m not totally sold on the no-hitter tanking our season is we still had a pretty decent June (15-13). You can argue that the signs were there, immediately before the break, we were in for quite the dive (losing 2 of 3 to the lowly Cubs in the last series before the break), but still, what has happened with this team has been unreal.
