Don’t buy one, just donate the equivalent amount of money to a 9/11 charity or the NYPD or whatever. Let’s not give MLB any money since the Mets can’t wear the responder caps in-game.
But this brings up a point I am stealing from @CoreyNYC. The solution is to make official MLB/New Era/Whatever First Responder Caps.
Apparently there is a way to make official NYPD/Mets attire as seen by this image on the left. Just make caps.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Not to undermine the legitimate, valid message you’re trying to get across, but just for the historical record, the Mets sold “NYPD” t-shirts in their team store last year.

That is true they did and they also sold Mets jerseys with NYPD AND FDNY patches on the sleeves,Both came out right around 9/11 last yr.
even better. So it CAN be done.
