I have the great MLB app for the iphone and was checking out the video highlights of last night's game….and they used Vin Scully's call of the final play which was simply "Marv Throneberry lives again." (This was TV, not Scully as Sterling.)
I read three stories about the game (none mentioned tha Redding was good, at least his line was – I blew this game off) and none really capture how awful Jeremy Reed's throw home was. Put it this way, the Mets might as well start Gary Dell'Abate at first tonight.
Scully wrapped it nicely, "This was a nightmare game……it wasn't a bad game, it was a nightmare game for the New York Mets."
