Mets like when people sit together with orange t-shirts

Yesterday the Mets emailed this ticket offer below.

mets orange shirt ticket offer

Hey that looks kind of cool.

I get an orange t-shirt, and there will be a big head on a stick I can have fun with.

The Mets seem to think this is the sort of things Mets fans would enjoy, and they are right.

Which brings us back to Chicago. Here’s a photo of the crowd in Chicago. Unfortunately I don’t have any front shots but you will have to trust me that the white thing is a big head. Also, I was there, the t-shirts are orange.

Let me show you what it looked like on television on the Cubs channel. That’s Cubs.

CSN coverage of the7line army

I would love to show you what it looked like on WPIX. But to the best of my knowledge it wasn’t shown. Folks have told me that the Mets fans weren’t shown, I have been loud about it, and nobody has corrected me. So I believe it was not shown on the New York telecast.

Is WPIX/SNY/Metropolitan Base Ball Club LLC obligated to plug someone’s t-shirt business? Of course not.

Could WPIX/SNY/Metropolitan Base Ball Club LLC have done a quick camera shot and said a generic “lots of Mets fans here today!” – yes.

Could they have tagged that camera shot with “and you can come out to Citi Field on Tuesday and get a t-shirt and a big-head” and promoted the offer. Yes.

  1. SNY/WPIX should have panned at least once to the section, acknowledging all those fans that traveled from afar to support the team. The microphones did pick up the chants somewhat but that’s about it.

  2. Didn’t the 7 Line crowd get a lot of airtime on the day Dickey won his 20th game last year?
