Very odd thing I noticed last night. I’m on mets.com looking at some old box scores, when this banner ad shows up at the top of the page
The Mets are promoting the Newark Bears, a minor league team in the independent Atlantic League.
I love the minor leagues – and really enjoy independent ball. But I find it very odd that the Mets – who are having well documented issues selling tickets, are promoting a lower cost alternative, particularly one not owned by the Wilpons (such as the Cyclones).
