A Beautiful Afternoon At Citi Field

I spent Thursday afternoon at the ballpark with Mets police Junior….took 100 or so shots, I was surprised the actual Mets police didn’t stop me from taking so many photos in the team store, but in the upcoming days I will give you a break from the Wrigley stuff (still have tons to cover there) – so starting next week we’ll check out the team store, then some of the menu items.   Rather than start that series on a Friday, here’s some random shots from Thursday afternoon.

A packed house for a Thursday afternoon!   Blue sky too! Remember those?

I need an engineer to explain to me the difference between Citi concrete and Shea concrete.  It felt like 100 degrees around 12:30 today, and it wasn’t that hot.  The actual Promenade underneath was a good 25 degrees cooler.   Wait until it is actually hot.

By the way, who is buying the “lemonade?”  Looks like a cup of water with a lemon floating.

If you want to get me something for my birthday, I wouldn’t mind this Mets themed “Hawaiian” shirt.

Take a close look at that hat….

….I don’t know if you can make it out – see the guy with the shirt I like – he was wearing a “Mets” hat with a white NY.  Sure looked Dodgery.  Don’t show Fred Wilpon that one.

Excuse me sir, you bought a black hat with a black NY.   You realize we can’t see the NY right?

Good job out of Junior.   I told him I’d buy him a shirt.   He picked a blue and orange one with an Irish guy on the back.   Son, some day, this blog will be all yours.

$22 at the Team Store.

  1. you gotta love that big plexiglass thing blocking your view of the outfield. i was going to send you a pic from Monday night taken about 1 or 2 sections over to the left from the front row. even 11 rows up (as i say yesterday), those things still sit in the way of pictures.

  2. Wish I knew you were at game as I was there as well with my son. I went looking for MURPHY 28 shirts but all they had were 2XL in the team store. I admit it I'm rooting very very hard for my fellow Irish-American to become a star
