I thought I would reach out to Paul Lukas from Uni Watch to discuss Mrs. Met. I decided to get right to the point.
SS: if one more person tells me that Mrs. Met used to be Lady Met I am going to scream. I have linked to your interview with the 70’s era Mrs. Met several times but they keep hounding me. Can you weigh in?
PL: Lady Met appeared in various graphics (on pennants, on stickers, etc.) back in the ’60s and early ’70s, but I don’t think there was ever a live Lady Met mascot. There was indeed a live Mrs. Met mascot, however, back in the mid-1970s. I interviewed the woman who wore the costume.
SS: what do you think about Mrs. Met wearing a different uniform than Mister? I like it. I hate when my wife makes us dress alike.
PL: Agreed! She should get to have her own style.
