As we continue our walk around Citi Field, we’re on the outside on the third base side.
One of the things the Mets got right was hanging player banners outside. I think they were a little quick to put Santana in this class – sure he’s good, but I think a player should be here for a while before gettung the honor.
Will the big 2010 free agent get a banner?
Look at that Orosco pose (second banner down) – wouldn’t that make a great statue?
This is a poor photo of the Gil Hodges banner but it brings up a major point in my Mets Policing.
My son asked me “who is that?”
No banner, he doesn’t ask the question.
Since he did, he got a quick lesson in 1969 and who Gil was and why he matters.
That’s why I think they should hang tons and tons of player banners around the place (inside) like the Cubs did.
Another great font. Very 60’s.
I have found the ticket windows much easier to deal with than they were at Shea. Also notice the big walk-up crowd. This was for the day game against the Cardinals.
