Sticker Shock: The Price Of My Own New York Mets Tickets

Holy cow, what was I thinking?

I was looking at my upcoming games to plan my life.  Fox moved Saturday’s convenient-for-me night game to a 4:05 start so I would like to sell those on Stubhub so I don;t have to cut a beach day short.

Play along with me.  How much would you guess a seat in the left field promenade would cost.  It’s a Saturday against the Giants.

$23!

I couldn’t believe it.  If you told me you wanted me to pay $23 to sit in the uppers to see the first place Mets play on “Tom Seaver Pitches An Inning Night” I wouldn’t buy it.   Boy did I get sucked in by the new park.

Now I can either nuke my day or take a loss.  No way I will get $23 plus stubhub’s commission.   Oh well, my stupidity nobody elses.

Let’s look at Monday night.  Also against the Giants.   $10?  $15?   Nope.  $19.  I guess I’ll use them.  (You can buy some for $8 on stubhub.)

Someone told me that the Phillies had their 50th sellout.  Good thing I bought a Sunday Phillies package (really, I did).  I have gone zero times and sole 14 of my 15 games at significant profit.  It pays for the Mets tickets.

Want to guess the one game I haven’t sold?   September 12th against…..the Mets!
