I’m (95%) off-topic here…which sometimes wigs people out, but on the other hand one of the biggest articles of all-time was about Springsteen and Ticketmaster.
So I’m going to assume that lots of Mets fans are like me and not only attended McCartney at Citi Field (pics here) but also like The Beatles.
So I was able to get my hands on the new Beatles remasters early (don’t ask). They sound amazing. I took a listen to Sgt. Pepperthis morning (“fake stereo” mix) and heard things that I’ve never heard before like additional chatter on Sgt. Pepper Reprise, and a really bad edit on She’s Leaving Home. The mix sounds warmer and brighter than ever before – and the separation on the tracks is incredible. It’s hard to describe audio, but imagine headphones on – you’ll hear McCarthey at your 3 o’clock, the strings at 1 o’clock, the drums right in front of you, Lennon to your left. That kind of thing. I’m no audiophile but it sounds liek they stripped everything down and rebuilt it. I also checked out Revolver and had the same reaction. I can’t wait to listen to the rest.
The Remastered Beatles CD’s(including Sgt. Pepper) come out Wednesday as does The Beatles: Rock Band…and to get the blog back on track, here’s what The Beatles: Rock Band looks like when you play at Shea Stadium.
