So Mr. Met is acknowledging the existence of Kay-C.
But clearly the Mr. Met seen at the ballpark isn’t the same Mr. Met we saw in the 1960’s.
So here’s my best shot at a ret-con
1960’s: Mr. Met is in a relationship of some sort with Kay-C. They have son named Plato, and a dog Homer.
1960’s: The relationship with Kay-C ends and Mr. Met begins dating Lady Met.
1960’s: The current Mr. Met and a sister are born. Maternal parent unknown.
1970’s: Mr. Met and Lady Met marry, she becomes Mrs. Met
1970’s: The Met family retires and is succeeded by a mule.
1990’s: Plato Met takes over the Mr. Met job at Shea Stadium. Plato Met (aka Mr. Met 1.5) was a wild eyed type, rumored to be a party animal and is quickly encouraged to find something else to do (the “Hank Steinbrenner” of mascots.)
1990’s: The younger son of Mr. Met takes over the family business. He is married and has three children. The whereabouts of his sister are unknown.
