Tim Teufel, the St. Mary’s High School product who went on to win a World Series ring with the Mets in 1986, is on the verge of climbing the minor-league managing ladder.
Teufel, 51, is expected to be named manager of the team’s Double-A affiliate in Binghamton, N.Y.
