Today’s idea comes from The Brooklyn Cyclones on Facebook (who didn’t actually submit it but I am using it, so it’s from “me.”)
Over the years we’ve had some great giveaways that have had fans lining up hours before gates open. That’s great, and we love the dedication, but it’s also caused some fans to go home unhappy because they haven’t been able to receive the items.
We hate when fans go home with anything but smiles on their faces, so we are trying to find a way to make some of our most popular giveaways available to even more people.
The idea we are tossing around is that anyone who purchases a field box or box seat is GUARANTEED to get the giveaway for pre determined games – whether you show up four hours in advance, or right at first pitch, you can still go home with a jersey or a bobble head.
In order to offset the cost of ordering thousands of more items, we would potentially increase single-game tickets on these days by a few dollars. (Season ticket prices would not be affected) Sounds good and we should explore it more? Or should we just leave things the way they are?
There are some smart people working in Brooklyn. Mets COO Jeff Wilpon should try and raid some of the staff from Brooklyn COO Jeff Wilpon and bring them to Queens.
