Matt Harvey Mentions Over/Under Game Official Rules

Seems y’all like playing the Matt Harvey Mentions Over/Under Game.

Here are the official rules.

For it to count, the SNY (or ch11) broadcast must mention Matt Harvey on a day where Matt is not the pitcher.

Any mention by Gary, Keith, Ron, Gelbs, guys in the SNY studio doing an update, a surprise visitor in the booth.  Anything.  If they start talking about Matt Harvey it counts.

Any random camera shot of Matt Harvey counts.  It has to be “dwelling on Matt for really no reason” (I will judge).  Matt appearing on camera high-fiving someone or a group shot does not count.  A close up of Matt while Colon is throwing a gem counts.

All pre-produced promos count.

If the guys talk about MH directly after a promo then that is one mention.  There has to be a complete stop of the MH discussion for a new “mention” to begin.

As an example…into break SNY shows a promo for Matt Harvey tees.  Then there are several commercials.  Then when we come back Gary does a live read for Matt Harvey Day.  Then Keith and Ron talk about MH.

That would count as two.  One for the promo, then a complete stop, then a second one for MH Day.   The convo is still part of the Gary Cohen mention.

The game begins when the Broadcast Proper starts.  Generally this means at 7pm for a home game following the opening credits.

The game ends at exactly the instance when the third out is made.

Killing time during rain delays does not count.  The game must be on.

The spirit of the game is that these are all “why are we talking about Matt Harvey right now” mentions.

The game cannot be played when Matt Harvey is playing.

Should Matt pinch hit or warm up to pitch the 14th inning that would not count as he would be playing in the game.

There is no wagering on MHUO, it is just for fun.Why does this game exist?  I don’t know.  But it is strangely fun.

Should this become in any way stressful (like if we are arguing over what a mention is or you and your friend have a fight over the dollar you bet on the game, which is in violation of the rules) then we will stop playing.

Tonight’s over/under is 6.5
