Wow, I went out for an hour and my mailbox blew up – apparently the Mets sent out an email with the vibe of Let’s Start A Conversation.
I don’t have any time at all today to dive into it, but that doesn’t mean you guys can’t educate me about it. Comments section is open….what did it say? What did you think about it?
My first thought was, “At least they’re listening (or pretending to listen).” I’ve received 3 e-mails from them since at some point in the past I used those 3 for all-important All Star voting (I’ve since given up on that silliness). I was expecting to just see one e-mail to the account for my ticket plan, but I suppose the Mets would like to converse with everyone – that’s okay. The e-mail leads to a survey that is fairly generic in most spots – asking about your relative interest in baseball compared to other sports, how much you attend, watch(TV), and listen to baseball games, etc. There are a few spots where they ask you to expound – for instance, one question about why you like baseball (or perhaps one of the other sports, if I had chosen it for a favorite). I’m not sure what they’ll do with the results. They asked about how often you’d like to be involved in the conversation – I somehow doubt it will be phone calls or on-line chats with management or ownership, but who knows? I’m honestly expecting more surveys. I’m a soccer fan and am engaged in something like this with MLS. They send me sporadic surveys – some short and some long. I fill them out and… that’s about it. I never hear any feedback.
