First of all, I remember when you liked going to games. It wasn’t that you didn’t like citi field, you just had less to do at home.I also remember when you championed the cause to go to games. Now, your kids are at the age where they always have something to do. You don’t want to travel to Queens because you just don’t want to travel to Queens. You enjoy your time on your deck because that’s the only free time you have to yourself. So I get why you don’t want to travel to games to sit with people. You need Shannon time. If we lived in the world of Mr. Robot, you would be the elder version of Elliot. You can’t enjoy what is going on around you except in your personal space aka your deck. Strangers? I don’t know, I think I have a great group of friends that I have made since 2009 that I go to games with. These folks have become family to me. You don’t have that group. Your friends that are Mets fans have all moved away from you and you guys would never go to a game to meet up. You guys have legitimate reasons to do so. I on the other hand enjoy going to the games and either sitting with my GF in my seats or if she is working inviting one of my friends who want to be at the game who have fun at the games. Then later on in the game we get up and go to Shea Bridge to hang out for the last few outs so we can celebrate the win or commiserate with the loss. I enjoy going to away games with these folks. These are also the folks who volunteer for the QBC because they are my friends and love baseball.I am sorry that you lost the passion going to games. Maybe it has to do with all those years you worked the games as a vendor. Maybe it has to do with the geography of where you live. Maybe it has to do with you just want to sit back and relax on your deck and watch the game. Maybe you are in training to become the ultimate wave starter.(YUCK)
That is all fine.
Let’s see. “Hey Cuz, Here’s a free ticket. Field Level. I know you don’t pay for parking or food if you don’t want to. Tolls and gas on you” grumble grumble….
I guess you’ll be sitting with @lagranderusty during the playoffs when he gets his strips…
