Wilmer Flores began playing winter ball for Los Bravos de Margarita in his native Venezuela in late November, but in his first game on November 26, he was hit by a pitch in his ankle which shut him down for nearly a week.
Ricco said on Tuesday Flores has a non-displaced fracture on his left ankle, and will wear a boot for the next few weeks.
