OK finally had a minute….
Junior just hit me with, “Hey remember when you said nobody would sign Tebow….” and then made fun of the Mets. That got Mrs. MP to react with the same incredulousness everyone else has.
So let me get this right. The Mets signed a 29 year old who played a year of high school ball.
What the (bleep). Like seriously, what the (bleep).
There is no logical explanation for this. Let’s play it out –
He’s awesome in the instructional league and starts the season at AA for the Binghamton Swampjerkoffs or whatever stupid rebranding those guys are doing. He goes to Vegas, hits 900 in the Vegas air, and Mike Silva gives Wally credit.
Then Tebow comes to the Mets and what – rotates in with Yo, Bruce, Lagares (remember him) and whoever the hell else is on the team?
Does any of that make any sense?
Even the cynical money grab doesn’t make sense. They are what, gonna make money off Binghamton Lumberboners ticket sales? Quick ratings grab on SNY?
None of this makes any sense which brings me back to my headline. Clearly the Mets are addicted to the crack that is making fun of the Mets. I get it. It’s how I get through my days. Apparently it’s how the Mets do too.
Oh by the way, the Mets are in a Wild Card spot but who gives a (bleep) – look it’s Tebow!
I cannot wait for spring when Matt has to fight for attention against the media creaming over Tebow.
Whatever Mets.
