Todd Hundley is another one of those Mets heroes that has gotten non-person’d.
Back in the mid-90’s we really needed a star, and Todd played the role. He had some pop, and allowed Mets fans to favorably compare him to the catcher on the Dodgers.
Unfortunately for Todd, he had injury problems, and then Mike Piazza came to Queens, leaving Todd with nowhere to play, despite a brief attempt at being a left fielder that made Daniel Murphy look like Willie Mays,
You never ever hear his name mentioned in Queens these days, but for a little while there, Todd Hundley was The Man.
