MLB walks half-way on hazing

Posts need images, but posting a picture of a Mets player being hazed is counter-productive to the issue.

I was pleased to wake up this morning and see that MLB has added policy about making rookies dress as woman.  Good rule.

My personal disconnect with baseball is about making rookies dress up as anything or making them go on Starbucks runs.

Imagine if you made Timmy the intern or Shirley the junior executive dress up as Gumby or a ketchup bottle or Donald Trump and go get the team Starbucks.  That wouldn’t fly at the Widget Company, so I’m not sure how it still is cool in a workplace where your job is to hit, catch and throw a ball.

So good first step, but baseball only went half-way.

Here’s a good read: Anti-hazing, anti-bullying policy appropriate and here’s another.
