I think we’re really seeing the effects of No Adam Rubin. The other guys aren’t generating news stories. Today is like yesterday in that it’s all Tim Tebow coverage.
Before we get to Tebow, let’s talk about the team. I think the Mets should have Jay Bruce play a zillion innings at first base this spring. He knows how to play RF, he doesn’t need reps out there. Use the split squad games and the minor league games to get Flores and Bruce time at first. They made this mistake with Piazza and then were shocked in the regular season when Mike wasn’t that god over there. Now on to the only thing that the main stream media is talking about for some reason…..
No Mets fan that I encounter in real life or social seems to give a hoot about Tebow, so I wish the MSM would stop covering this nonsense and find something interesting in camp. Today’s there is less Spring Training news than we would have gotten from two lines in the 1978 Daily News.
The whole point of the Morning Laziness is that I search “Mets” on twitter and Google so you don’t have to. Believe me I looked this morning. There’s nothing. We could talk about how many HRs a stunt hit in BP but I don’t want to do that. Searches for Wright, Harvey, Cespedes, deGrom…also nothing.
