SLACKISH REACTION: Jason Fry got mad at me for saying this, but maybe Matt Harvey really is just an OK pitcher who projects as a three starter. That was the initial expectation way back when. We were told the other guys were going to be better. Matt never had a 21-5 season where he was the Next Anyone, except maybe the Next Pelfrey, and I don’t say that to be jerky. Sure there were some electric games, and the All Star Game had a convenient location that year……but has he ever been Amazin’ for an extended stretch? I don’t come to bury The Dark Knight, but I do think you guys and The Marketing Department created him, he bought in and loved his own hype and….well…..maybe he’s Mike Pelfrey.
And I am no expert in celebrity gossip, but ponder this….
