I know I threw a rock with that headline, and believe you me I’ve seen my share of awful Mets teams – believe me – but this month’s team might be an all-time low

Who are you watching for? To see how Flexen and Aoki do? To root for Montero? To see if the Mets can fend off the Phillies?
There have been some awful teams but there was always someone to root for. I guess Smith and Rosario are those guys, but even Rosario is out so it’s back to barely tolerating Reyes.
1977-82, there was always a Mazzilli or some Craig Swan fantasy to get behind. The Swoosh years? A dumpster fire but a spectacular fire. Art Howe? At least some veterans kinda sorta. The first years of Citi? At least I had Murph and you had The Captain and R.A.
This crew? Who is your favorite Met right now. And what if I don’t let you say Thor or JDG because they only play every 5th day?
The Dark Knight rising yet again this time it’s for real honestly? He’s done. You know it, he knows it, the Mets know it.
deGrom day? I guess. Maybe.
Thor’s one start on September 32nd to give us some hope for the winter? Sure, those two innings will be great.
This is rough. I will put the game on tonight because Winter Is Coming and it’s a long way to March, but I’m not excited.
This isn’t even the rebuild. This is the garbage time before the rebuild.
