There is a mass shooting in this country once a month.
We need to have the discussion.
I get that some farmers wrote some laws in the 1790s. I get that you want to form your militia. I get that you don’t want the British to start taxing my tea again. I get that you want to shoot a deer. I get that you want to protect your hoe and family from the daily invaders trying to rob your home. I get it.
But we need to have this discussion. We need to start somewhere. Telling me that the bad guys will get the guns anyway is just putting your head in the sand.
One time, a girl was hit by a foul ball. It was sad and I am sorry it happened. Immediately everyone overreacted and now we have netting everywhere. If 25 people were injured at baseball games every month I guarantee you congress would act.
One shoe bomber one time tried to blow up a plane and we have been taking our shoes off for 17 years.
25 people are murdered and we don’t even look up from football because 25 doesn’t seem like such a big number anymore.
This is madness. Someone needs to start having this discussion in Washington.
