The Mets won today. Hooray! The Mickey Mafia is out there once again singing his praises.
Some Counterpoint –
Were the Mets good or the Cardinals bad? Does the manager trick the opposing pitcher into hitting batters?
The Mets SP gave up 4 runs in 6 innings. Put your thumb over the K column and it really was a Bad Matt Harvey outing.
I was really hoping he would let the Gazelle Man finish the game. I know The Gazelle only trick out all three batters he faced but for some reason Mickey needed to Bullpen this one. Just let the man finish the game like men did in the 1970s. Gazelle was dominating, leave it alone.
And the whole Pitcher Batting 8th thing. How many times did Noah come up mid-rally to look like he couldn’t bunt (hey I thought you all hated bunting, now Mick does it and its cool) – anyway Noah bunts as well as I do, maybe even worse – Noah would try to bunt and then just strike out. That happened at least twice, maybe three times. Stop with this.
So that’s my take. It worked, but I am not ready to say it was because of the manager. Relax Mickey Mafia.
