SLACKISH REACTION: The Mets win! What a great start. Let’s talk about The Math.
There are 153 games left. If the Mets play .500ish and go 76-77 the rest of the way they will finish 84-78. That’s how huge April wins can be.
Normally in April I am explaining the bad math to y’all, so it’s nice to explain it the other way. With two more games in Miami there is a good chance to come home 9-2 and maybe even 10-1.
WAAAH WE GOT IN LATE: I saw some nonsense about how the Mets got in at 5am. First of all, charter flights and arranged transportation. This isn’t you or I slugging through LaGuardia and finding a cab.
But hey getting to the hotel at 5am is 5am. You fall asleep at 6am. You sleep 8 hours and now it’s 2pm. Shower and shave and dress and head to work at 3pm. Oh the horrors.
I also saw one of the beat praise Noah, who flew ahead, for watching the entire game. Wow he stayed up until 12:30 and pitched 18 and a half hours later? A true hero. Imagine if he had watched the entire game and had to get up for work at 6am and then cram on a delayed Path train!
Dan Rather is on the Mets train.
When and why did Let’s Go Mets become an IN YOUR FACE BRO chant?
ANYWAY: Very quiet for an 8-1 morning. There aren’t even thinks for NOT LINKING. So let’s enjoy the win and move on.
