Mets Police Morning Laziness: The Dark Knight Leaves

SLACKISH REACTION:  Look if you read the blog every day, or even every now and then, it is known I was not a big fan.  I tend to resist the Group Think, so when people started with the Next Seaver nonsense, I enjoyed pointing out every little bit of how Matt Harvey was not the Next Seaver.

His downfall, shockingly quick.  You have forgotten he had a decent first start this year.   You know the rest.

The guy never seemed to be smart.  Whatever the wrong thing to do, he would do it.  I’m hear to talk about Qualcomm.  Full Namath in ESPN magazine.  Sports cars in the spring.  Look At Me winters.  Burrito night.  SECURITY COMING TO HIS HOUSE.   Let me repeat, SECURITY COMING TO HIS HOUSE (more on that in a second).  And even the LA thing, which would have been fine say David Wright decided to do it, just not smart.  Refusing the minor league assignment?  I get Boras’ logic, but I am not sure Boras has Matt’s best interest in mind.

Over time The Dark Knight will get retconned into some fantasy of what never was.  It really never was.  Oh you remember a game or two, but it never REALLY was.

As for SECURITY COMING TO HIS HOUSE – ask yourself this.  Today happens to be Cinco De Mayo.  If Todd Frazier goes on a burrito binge and misses Sunday’s game, do you think they will send SECURITY TO HIS HOUSE.   Think about it folks.

What really strikes me is how crazy this fanbase, on the other side of Next Seaverness is this…

…look I clearly didn’t like the guy, but for both the newspaper and fans to be being using hashtags like #goodriddance (I don’t mean you Mr. Sanchez, it’s possible your blog has been killing Matt for several years too), it’s like guys can you not pretend like you weren’t his biggest fans?

Anyway moving on…..

I have early morning stuff plus soccer.  Would like to sit on my deck and follow the story all day but alas I am a grownup with other things to do.

Oh, Mickey Hodges needs to bring back the Mickey Magic.  Your team is freefallng bruh.
