I didn’t see much of the game . I didn’t experience much of the game. I did follow the last two innings on a combo of the App and twitter and I feel like I have a feel for the game. I did watch the Mickey presser.
He thinks guys are pissed.
Yes, most of those guys are middle aged Mets fans who are watching the team waste another summer, and they ARE pissed. Maybe some players are too, I dunno. The guys who don’t seem to be pissed are the owners and GM who are allowing this.
My friends the Mets sent some postgame notes I am sure they would like you to know about.
The Mets have lost 11 of their last 13 games, including six straight…The six-game losing streak is tied for the Mets’ longest this season (also May 1-6)…New York has lost eight straight home games and is 12-19 at Citi Field this season…The last time the Mets dropped eight consecutive games at home was when they lost eight consecutive home games from May 10-25, 2013
Baltimore swept its first series of any length vs. the Mets in team history.
Mets Offense: Has scored two runs in its last 42.0 innings…The Mets were shut out for the fifth time this season (all at home)…Was held to two runs or fewer for a fourth consecutive game and 23rd time this season…The last time the Mets scored two or fewer runs in four straight games was October 1-4, 2015…The 23 games of two or fewer runs scored are tied for the fifth-most in the major leagues.
1-0 Games: Today was the Mets first 1-0 loss since September 14, 2016 at Washington…Overall, the Mets are 131-119 in franchise history in games that have ended with a 1-0 score.
One-Run Games: The Mets are 7-13 in one-run games this year (3-6 in such games at home)…Baltimore improved to 5-8 in one-run contests (4-5 in such games on the road).
Zack Wheeler: Tossed 7.0 shutout innings and allowed three hits in a no-decision…Struck out five and walked one…Was the second start of his career where he pitched at least 7.0 innings and did not allow a run…His other such outing was his complete game shutout on June 19, 2014 at Miami…Was his first career scoreless start at Citi Field (36 career starts)…Today’s start is the sixth time in Wheeler’s career he’s tossed at least 6.0 innings and not allowed a run…Wheeler has completed at least 6.0 innings in eight of his 11 starts this season.
WHAT?? -> P.J. Conlon: The Mets have claimed lefthanded pitcher P.J. Conlon off waivers from the Dodgers and assigned him to Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League…To make room on the 40-man roster for Conlon, the Mets have designated infielder Phillip Evans for assignment.
Oh by the way, I am glad the Mets are playing the game the right way and that Todd Frazier has reenergized the dugout (that’s what Mick said last night). Great.

Final thought, was this The Virus’ last game? If so, it was a fitting end as the last time he left the team it was also a weekday day game – of course that time it was in the 1st inning and never forget Jose is such a True Met that he signed with Miami at like 12:01am. His agent works fast.
