Mets Police Morning Laziness: I leave you people alone for a week and you lose the GM and are in LAST PLACE

Heard you missed me…I’m back….

Much much much thanks to @NikoMetsPlus who did an A+ job covering last week including an extra day when I was having fun with canceled flights and trapped overseas.  Today I am in Chicago, may even hit the Cubs game although I don’t think time will allow, but it’s nice to be back on the blog.

Ok where was I….

SLACKISH REACTION:

Guys, come on man – I left for a week and the Mets won one game I think.  Sandy is gone, Mickey is OMG Effing Inexplicably* Still The Manager and I don’t even know what to say here rule of three.

Let’s start with this….

Now I don’t have my pulse on things right now as I haven’t seen a game in a week but I picked up that even the Mickey Mafia is disbanding, GKR are critiquing the guy, and even the T-Shirt guy tweeted that he didn’t feel bad that he didn’t watch a game.

Oh and this disaster of a team is behind the Marlins in the standings.  The team that’s openly trying to tank.

This manager.  This manager.  I told you.  Eventually listen to me the next time you think I am on crack about Murph or The Next Seaver or a Gil Hodges Moment.  Most Mets fans and MEDIA have no idea what they are talking about and just follow The Narrative.

So at this point, with a new general manager coming in there’s really no reason now to pay managers.  Either let this guy lose 115 games and then ax him, or if things are as bad as they seem then see if Terry, who is already on payroll, will do you a favor and mop up.  The third choice would be Tim Teufel, also on payroll, but also inexperienced at the major league level.

I know you’re about to tell me that the roster isn’t Mickey’s fault.  SOMETHING has to be his fault, no?  Otherwise why not just let ME manage?

While I was gone, Sandy stepped down as you all know.  I feel bad for the man that his career ends like that with a random weekday presser in a season gone as badly as any Mets season has.

All this adds up to a rebuild coming.  All those years of hyping the FIVE ACES and now we’re starting over.   Around Rosario who has yet to impress and Dom Smith who nobody in the organization seems to like.

That being said, DON’T TRADE DEGROM.  The fans need something.   Something.

The Wilpons are going to need to market SOMETHING this summer.   And in a world with JDG, I fear that will be Tebow Time  I don’t understand the whole Tebow fascination at all, but while the Yankees are in a pennant race I can see the Mets calling up the AA All Star to sell some seats and give the beat reporters something to do.

That will entertain the beat for about 20 minuets and then there will be more shark feeding.

All this on the way to 115 losses and a start over.  Again.

….

Harvey Days will not be seen today as I am in Chicago and can’t follow along today.  Too bad as I have come to really enjoy those posts (and thank you again Niko for doing it last start).
