It was a sunny low humidity Saturday afternoon, so if you think I was gonna sit inside chronicling Matt Harvey, you’re nuts. So let’s see what twitter had to say…
Looks like MH had a shaky first
96 mph gas gets big strikeout for Matt Harvey in the first. 2-0 Reds.
Go Reds.

Matt Harvey strikes out Ian Happ swinging stranding 2 to end the 1st inning Cubs trail the Reds 2-0

On to the second it’s fun to read the back to back tweets….
Bottom 2nd Matt Harvey pitching well…..

Matt Harvey needs to stop getting in these types of situations.

Matt Harvey strikes out Ben Zobrist in a great AB battle to end the 2nd. If that does not tell you he’s back, I don’t know what is.

Matt Harvey has buckled down when he’s needed to vs. the #Cubs in the first two innings, getting a strikeout with two men on to end each inning. #Reds lead 2-0 to start the 3rd.

Hmm who knows. I was in the pool. On to the third…and nobody tweeted it.
A little before 4 the sun went behind the trees on my deck, so I busted out the laptop for TDK’s 4th. I immediately jinxed him and he gave up two runs….and wait, did he shave his head?

Now up 6-2, I learned Matt had let runners on in every inning. The first out was one of those 370 foot flyouts that MH thrives on these days (welcome to Fake New Yankee Stadium where those will land in the 7th deck.)
He should have gotten a second out but the Reds SS has the range of me and a ground ball to 6 went to LF.
Another runner got on around the time Croatia scored (I think a walk) and that got Coach Darwin to visit to ask Matt what the hell he was thinking about this haircut.

But TDK got out of it yet again and took his 6-2 lead into the 6th.
The Reds did a Bad News Bears which put a runner on 2nd..and the Cubs knocked it in to make it 7-3.
There was another one of those 385 foot outs that’s gonna be a problem in the Bronx…and then that was it for Matty.

Entering today’s game, the Reds are 31-22 since acquiring Matt Harvey on May 8.

The Dark Knight was in line to win his 5th..but the Reds bullpen somehow spit up this lead. No win for Rip Tide, and I am not sure if he raised his trade value (probably neutral) and what’s up with the hair?
