SLACKISH REACTION: 2:18! Two eighteen! Even with the rain delay the game was done in under three hours. Bless you Mickey! It also goes to show, one again, on getaway days that baseball players magically develop the ability to play quickly. If I counted the total pitches correctly, the Padres only threw 120 and the Mets fewer than 100. I suspect there was a lot of first pitch swinging, as we often see on getaway days, because players like their time off.
Thus, the solution to Pace of Play is MORE TRAVEL. Lets make the schedule HARDER on players so they play more quickly!
I didn’t see any of the game so I dunno what happened. It was nice to see Jose Reyes started and McNeil sat on the bench. This organization has a plan.
It is July 26th. The Mets are in last, Todd Block Frazier has a .685 OPS and Dom Smith has one RBI.
NOT LINKING: The AAIMBR, which can’t even come up with a non-Rubin ripoff for their morning thing are leading with “the Mets hope to cool off the Pirates.” Jesus guys, at least try. Please just try. You have 54 writers. That’s all you have? Then again ESPN led with that someone from the Overwatch league threw out the first pitch.
