People seem to want me to comment on this Deadspin post that frankly deserves to be in the NOT LINKING section.
Let me make this simple. The commissioner is not taking the Mets away from the Wilpons.
What would be the case? The team is run so poorly that they haven’t made the World Series since 2015? Should he take the Yankees away from the inept Steinbrenners who spend and spend and haven’t been in the WS this entire decade?
Is is the since-2016 playoff drought? I guess it is time to take the Mariners away from Nintendo.
They are so incompetent that 2.4 million tickets were sold in 2017 (averaging 30,000). They might be horrible owners but you must suck at being a consumer. They’ve sold 1.5M and are pacing at 29,000 this year – so who is the bigger fool, the fool or the fool that buys tickets?
Look man, I am sorry that David Wright and Cespedes got hurt and that Matt Harvey likes burritos. If the Wilpons survived Madoff they will survive you being pissed off that Jose Reyes starts five times a week. You can’t just take away a 2 billion dollar asset because Thor can’t stay healthy.
