Morning Laziness: some quick thoughts about SNY

SLACKISH REACTION:  So far every article I read is negative on the Wags hire.  So you have to ask yourself, is Jeff Wilpon right and everyone else is wrong, or is Jeff Wilpon wrong.  Place your bets.

The Mets Police are going to remind you to vote on Tuesday.  You can vote for whoever you like, but you should vote.

October is over.  I think it was one of the worst months ever from a blogging standpoint.  There has been absolutely nothing to talk about.   Somehow October 2018 was better than ’17 in terms of site traffic, but you can imagine that October of 2016 and especially 2015 did better.  Winning does bring the causal reader by, plus there are things to write about.

So far, November is just as bad.  There are 50000 Wags articles.  There’s “David Wright turned down an ofter to be an announcer in the playoffs” that I can’t even be bothered to click.

At some point I am going to write at length about SNY.  I don’t understand their strategy.  I don’t understand what they see in Andy Martino who permanently damaged his brand with Mets fans years ago.  I don’t even look at anything he’s involved with.  John Harper damaged his brand this summer and they have him on.

I mentioned the other day that I realized SNY has ruined Gelbs for me – as I said most of the second half of the summer I saw that Gelbs can do good analysis, but they’ve cast him so often as the goofy little brother that we don’t take seriously and when is Kevin coming back that when they had him talk to Wags I clicked off because SNY has made Gelbs’ brand “fluff”- again we saw last summer that there is a LOT more there.  They just don’t tap into it.  And don’t even ask me what’s going on over at Mets Blog, a shell of itself and a clickbait farm.

Oh, this will be have to be me at the SNY sponsored Queens Baseball Convention now.   Maybe I’ll just skip.
