Did we know about Jerry Koosman’s Big Bite Sandwich Shoppes?

Ha I bet that headline has someone older than me screaming at their computer the way I do when I see a Reddit post where some millennial “discovers” something in Star Trek TOS and I lose my mind and email @mediagoon about it.

Anyway, I feel like my bona fides are pretty strong, an active fan since 1977, and blogging for almost 11 years – but I had never heard about Jerry Koosman’s Big Bite.

If you click that link there you will see an ad for the place which sells “Heros, Burgers, Franks, Chicken, Shrimp”  – and it has a cool phone number that starts with 888 back in the days when a local call didn’t require an area code.

I haven’t been able to find too much about the Big Bite.

Here’s a picture of Koos at the grand opening of the location in Levittown, the first link mentions a Big Bite in Brentwood – so Jerry must have been either doing OK or had some big dreams.

If you know anything about this, or somehow have some old pictures in a shoe box, let me know on the Mets Police Facebook page.

If Matt Harvey opened a sandwich chain you’d lose your minds.
