Mets Police Morning Laziness: caps based in stereotypes, TDKLAA hurt, JDG Award broken…lots to discuss!ok

SLACKISH REACTION:  I’m actually writing this last night around midnight, after tossing and turning for about two hours because I cannot stop thinking about the cap above (plus I had a little too much National Coffee Chain around 9pm).  I am not checking my email and not looking at twitter right now (meaning last night) as I don’t want to be up all night debating this, although I intend to heavily get into it on Friday.   I wrote about the cap at length, and I’d appreciate it if you’d take the time to read it.

In short, I feel the cap is based upon ethnic stereotypes of 100 years ago.  I in no way think The 7 Line, New Era nor MLB mean any harm.  I imagine this is just a throwback cap that seems fun. coming from a place of under-education, and I hope by amplifying the discussion I can encourage Mr. Meenan of T7L not to sell the caps.  I do enjoy The 7 Line and encourage you to buy other products from that brand, just not that cap.

Now let’s get on to the fun….

The Mr. Met discussion I hoped to have was this discussion of Mr. Met Continuity, and how many Misters Met there may be.  Are there three?  four?  More?

The Dark Knight of Los Angeles of Anaheim (TDKLAA) is already out for 10 days! 

Another piece that is getting overshadowed is that I wrote about the Third Act of the Matt Harvey movie.

Meanwhile, the Mets have issued #33 to Kyle Dowdy!

Jacob deGrom will be the Mets Opening Day starter.   JDG would like to stay with the Mets and his former Agent would like him to stay with the Mets.

deGrom’s actual Cy Young Award got damaged!

I feel better already getting the words out of my brain and onto the page.  Everything below the dots is from actual Friday morning.

The cap above is nice looking.  Perhaps T7L, New Era and MLB could promote some in that style.

EVEN MORE SLACKISH REACTION:   And good morning.  I wound up being awake past 12:30.  Long time readers know I like my sleep.  Kinda groggy this AM and in need of coffee.

Noah is still in violation of Yankees facial hair policy.
