So it’s been bothering me that Al Leiter suddenly joined the Mets. Wags is involved, so nothing is ever on the up and up. There’s always another piece. Like Jessica Mendoza, you will NEVER GUESS which agency reps her.
But Leiter……hmmmm……so I did some googling and found this…
Here’s Mr. Leiter speaking about betting on sports…
That’s pretty passionate.
Mr. Leiter also visited Connecticut The bold is mine.
On Tuesday, former Mets pitcher Al Leiter and former Celtics forward Cedric Maxwell were in Hartford as representatives of the National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball, which favor sports betting as long as the leagues receive a percentage of the money bet. (via Courant)
Oh wait…it’s ok as long as the leagues get a cut. Got it.
Now let’s get into conspiracy land.
In New Jersey where can you bet on sports? Two of the places are racetracks – Monmouth and the Meadowlands.
How about New York? You know where there’s a racetrack? Belmont.
And you know who is involved in developing the land on Belmont? The Wilpons.
Now I may have added two plus two and gotten 44, but this is openly a conspiracy theory post. Perhaps Mr.. Leiter is just very passionate about gambling topics AND also wanted to come work for the Mets. Could very well be unrelated. On the other hand, I have been doing this a long time and my spidey sense is telling me there must be more to “Hey, Al Leiter is back!” than we know.
Oh, and you saw that all lineups are going to have to go to the commissioner’s office. That got announced two days after Leiter. Call me crazy.
