Well it was Matt Harvey’s dream come true. Here he was on a baseball field with the New York Yankees!
As for me, this was a great way to recap because I taped the game on Youtube TV and found out I could play it at 2x and just get to the good parts instead of sitting through a baseball game.
Things started great for The Dark Knight of Anaheim of Los Angeles (TDKOALA) with a quick out but then…
And it was 1-0 Yankees, which in some ways must have made Matt happy because we know he’d rather root for the Yankees than attend a game his own team was playing…but then again he was pitching against the Yankees so maybe not.
In the second…uh oh this doesn’t look good…
Whew, whoever this Trout guy is saved the day. He seems to be good at baseball. MLB should market him.
Matt kept his composure and got out of the inning 1-2-3 in your scorebook!
Have no fear, the Angels got the lead back and Matt headed out to the mound with a 2-1 lead to start the third and…
Oh no. It’s a leadoff double. And then a walk. And now there are two on!
And then ANOTHER walk and the bases are loaded…and uh oh here comes The Sweatshirt Bully
The Sweatshirt Bully gave Matt a talking to…
And it was back to work for The Real Deal.
Matt got two fly outs – one scored a run and the other ending the inning. And Matt would head to the 4th!
In the 4th…a nice easy inning. Well maybe not….one of those 380 foot fly outs and then a 2 out single…a 1-2-3-4 inning for Koala.
In the 5th…Matt had to work a bit covering first base….but it’s a 1-2-3 for Matty Baseball.
Then we saw Matt in the SIXTH and sit down son…
And it’s ANOTHER 1-2-3 inning for The Dark Knight! Whatever Sweatshirt Bully said, it worked!
The Angels are not insane and got out while the getting was good. 6 innings, 2 runs, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts. On paper, pretty good. In reality, another shaky start with some 385 foot outs. Matt’s ERA dropped to 8.03 on the season. I’m not sure he impressed the Yankees enough to be part of their 2020 plans.
