Yes Matty Baseball had some flashes of brilliance, had some great games that reminded old fat guys of Gooden starts, and yeah he started al All Star Game.
I can also remember being out at the bar at 2:30 in the morning chasing the Best Night Ever.
But then you wake up and it’s a few years later and you realize…man we were young and crazy. Did we really make Harvey Day t-shirts? For a guy that was 34-37 in Queens? For a guy with fewer wins in Queens than Ed Lynch? Even Dillon Gee was 40-37 in Queens. As Red Buttons said, “Never got a t-shirt.”
All these years later don’t you feel ridiculous for buying one of these? All these years later I’d love to have one to wear as a goof. But I am not buying used t-shirt on eBay. Even fat bloggers have pride.
