SLACKISH REACTION: It’s the Fourth of July! And while my national celebration day was three days ago, on July 1st, we are getting the grills ready, sunscreen on, and getting ready to make our way out to the park to root on our time in our national pastime.
Unless of course if you are a Mets fan.
For whatever reason this year, the Mets aren’t playing a game on Independence Day, the first time in club history, setting aside strike shortened seasons.
That won’t stop the Mets from selling you six different versions of the same July 4th caps, though (but more on that a bit later).
On a separate note, the Mets fell to the Yankees yesterday in a Vargas snoozer, which meant the Mets fell back to 12 games behind the first place Braves.
It’s July 4th, Look at this Polo
