In what I believe to be one of the most ridiculous sporting events out there, the 104th edition of the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest (an event in a league called Major League Eating) got underway this afternoon, and among the “official judges” is Mets infielder Jeff McNeil, who watched 13 time champion Joey Chestnut consume 71 frankfurters in 10 minutes.

This is just one of those weird and pointless but also cool for social media moments.
I’m glad Jeff enjoyed himself, and especially happy he didn’t partake, for many reasons. 😉
