It’s harder to do these MH recaps when he’s in the minors, double-so when it’s a road game, and let’s face it nobody cares but you and I.
I was sort of paying attention to the game on MILB Gameday. Seems like the first inning was painless, just a hit, no runs. Not a single person commented. I am searching twitter for his name, I am watching Aviators twitter, and Isotopes twitter…nothing.
In the second, a leadoff hit. You Matt Harvey Watchers know what’s coming, right?
A stolen base, a hit, and then the two run homer. An out in there somewhere but who cares. Homer. Always a homer. I tried to tell the A’s fans but they won’t listen. 3-0 Isotopes end of two.
Let’s imagine the HR looking something like this image from last week.
In the third, two strikeouts to start the inning. Then a single. And a pop out. I’d like to imagine we got the Confident Matt Harvey Walk To The Dugout, which would look something like this, but we will never know since I am the only person in the universe covering this game.
The Aviators put up a 4 spot, then The Dark Knight Returned For The 4th, 50 pitches in. I know one fan hoping for a bad inning so he could go to bed…
The first guy made an out, but then a walk! Uh oh!!!! We usually get Fidgety Matt who look like this…
Then someone at the game actually tweeted a picture to prove this game was real!
Never thought I’d be sitting in the stands watching Matt Harvey pitch against the #Topes but here we are. pic.twitter.com/wZcCu7UV80

The guy who walked got caught stealing. But then a double. Uh oh! That led to a Mound Visit, which makes me realize how much I miss The Sweatshirt Bully.
Whatever they talked about, it worked. And Matt had a 4-3 lead through four on 69 pitches so I had to stay up even though I didn’t want to. I decided to give it one more inning.
A leadoff walk! Would I get the meltdown I want so I can go to bed? You A’s fans know by now that Matt only likes clean innings. A leadoff walk..this won’t be good…
Then the runner stole second! That’s three attempts….does the Aviators catcher suck? Is the word out that you can run wild on Matt?
A strikeout!
A double!
Run scores! Tie Game!
Probably a face like this!
Do you believe me NOW A’s fans?
A walk!
A mound visit!
A strikeout, on a slider (I realized this game is radio-streaming so I can listen.) Matt’s 6th. Man, these mound visits are really working!
This next batter is key. I need Matt to get knocked out so I can go to bed. Otherwise this post isn’t going up until morning because I am not sitting around for 20 minutes to see if he gets another inning.
Another strikeout on a slider. His SEVENTH!
At the end of 5 we’re tied….and it’s time for bed.
So here I am and it’s Wednesday morning now. I type Matt Harvey into Google. News and…nothing (almost, more on that in a second). Twitter? Nothing since MY update. Aviators twitter? Nothing.
So wow I had to go to MILB.com’s boxscore! 5 innings, 4 runs, 7Ks on 91 pitches?
Was he good? I dunno. Like I said, I seem to be the only person reporting on the game. It looked like he had two good-enough innings, and two Modern Harvey shaky innings. I know I wouldn’t trust him with a game.
So back to the news, apparently Matt told a reporter that Matt can opt out of his A’s contract come Thursday. I’m not sure where the hell he thinks he’s going if he does. I’ll probably write more about this later today.
