SNY/Andy Martino is reporting that MLB will not fine Pete Alonso over the first responder caps. First of all, they really couldn’t per the CBA unless Chief Baseball Officer Joe Torre want to invoke the “flagrant” violation clause….which given the politics surrounding 9-11 in New York City would seem very unwise.
So this gives me even further confidence that next year on September 11th, which will be held on September 11th 2020, the Mets should #WearTheCaps!
Meanwhile, y’all have 364 days to figure out a “legal” way for the Mets to do this. Surely we can solve for 40 caps given a year’s notice.
