Joe Maddon: Will this guy manage the Mets? No

Welcome back to a series called Will This Guy Manage The Mets? No.   This was a great suggestion from @ceetar a few years back in which we cut through all the nonsense that will be put in front of you by the AAIMBR and most notable Formerly MetsBlog.

How this works is I float a Clickbait Name, just like they are going to do, and I quickly tell you how it ain’t happening.   Today, we look at Joe Maddon.

So many ways we can go here……

Joe Maddon is the only person on the planet to have managed the Cubs to a World Series victory.  He is the Davey Johnson of Chicago.

Joe would be tons of fun.  He likes to do wacky things, so we could all enjoy the day he decides to bat the pitcher third, or has Pete Alonso pitch a third of an inning to start the game….maybe even field some wacky King And His Court inspired defense with just a 1B, 3B, P and C and everyone else in the OF.

Joe is fun.

Joe also likes t-shirts.  I am sure the local T-Shirt Lobby is campaigning for him. Imagine how much side money everyone could make with Joe wearing quirky t-shirts on camera all the time.

But let’s talk about money.  Joe made $6M last year.  The Wilpons still own the Mets.  Do I even need to write more sentences on this topic?

So, no, Joe Maddon will not manage the Mets next season at Age 66.  Joe isn’t going to put up with The Agent In Charge either.  This is a complete non-starter.

Oh and Try Not To Suck should be an inspiration to the 75 writers at the AAIMBR and whoever locked Cerrone in a closet and ruined Formerly Mets Blog.  Let me know if you guys want shirts.

Tomorrow – will Joe Girardi manage the Mets?
